Knowledge
At every instant in my life i felt i have attained enough to be a master but more I delved into knowledge I started realizing how vast is the treasure and how little i know . My achievements and success at every step appeared just one of the milestones and not the final goal .It so happens that at a very early stage in our children’s life we make them proud of their every small success . This in a way gets in their head and they start thinking themselves to be invincible and too proud .Success becomes the destination and they stop enjoying the process of learning and enhancing their skills further .The hard work and discipline cease to hold any relevance in their life .The pleasure of learning is missing in many of our youth and this leads to a vacuum in their mind set .The ultimate vision of any education is to produce leaders who are able to shoulder the responsibility of the society .
This very purpose gets defeated if accumulation of knowledge starts becoming a cumbersome process .At this stage of my life I wanted to learn singing which has been my passion throughout .
When i gave it a go I realized that to be a perfect singer I would have to require at least few births .The sadhana to know only few notes would be a life time practice .In this context i would like to quote the works of Picasso .Once he was painting on a street side . A lady happened to loose her work and offered to purchase. The exorbitant price made her jittery .
Picasso asked for her hanky and immediately drew some good sketches and asked her to go and sell it in the market .Not knowing the genius creation of a masterpiece she was ignorant about it went to the market for selling and was overwhelmed to know the price she was offered.
She came back again to Picasso and asked the master to teach him just few strokes to become a painter . The master laughed and scoffed – it took me 30 years of perseverance to be able to draw the sketch .
This patience is lacking in today’s youth . They want all success at the drop of a hat or at Beckham’s call .Hence the journey of acquiring knowledge should become a pleasure able experience then we will realize that how vast a treasure needs to be known and conquered and in its pursuit we will never become headstrong and vain .
The limitless world needs to be conquered and acquired by patience,diligence and hardwork .Every mile stone needs to yet another one – the journey is boundless and limitless -The exploration has to just begin.
